This course is intended to provide a basic understanding of the management and governance of businesses, both private and public. In particular, the following will be analyzed in detail:
1) the concepts of enterprise and entrepreneur
2) the assets constitutive of enterprise
3) the competitive external environment
4) the business models
5) the strategies and the entrepreneurial decisions

Type of Assessment
The final exam aims to assess the acquisition of knowledge of the topics of the course, it will take place in oral form with the discussion and evaluation of the project work done in working groups and a possible additional question related to the topics covered during the lessons.
Course program
Given the importance of strategic business management in the era of New Public Management and Public Governance, the course aims to convey to students the basic knowledge of economics and management of enterprises, both private and public.
After analyzing the concepts of enterprise, entrepreneur and the constitutive structures of a company, students will learn how to evaluate the positioning of the company within its economic scenario; moreover, they will evaluate the internal strategies of the company through the concept of business model. Finally, students will form teams to analyze real companies and evaluate their business strategies.
